VINTAGE CELLARS UPGRADE WITH SANYO 

Neville Marsh, owner of one of Canberra’s largest wine cellars, Vintage Cellars Oaks Estate, has recently upgraded his cash and stock control system. 

“What we needed,” said Neville, “was a system that was user friendly for both staff and management to use.  After a lot of searching we settled on the Sanyo ECR445-7”. 

 “We used to employ a person two or three days a week to count the stock on hand of our major items and then base our weekly re-ordering on these figures.  With the Sanyo system, stock on hand is known at all times and I have been able, to not only reduce staff, but reduce stock holdings 4 to 5% without effecting sales.  Another big plus is being able to know how old the stock is and the Sanyo system can easily identify this.  Before, when we were physically counting, we had no idea how long stock had been on the shelf.”

 “My staff, even part timers, find it very easy to use and minimal training was required as it is so simple to operate.  Sales can be registered by scanning the barcode or by using the Fast Keys, so the system is very flexible.  In fact the software is so flexible that we had Sanyo customise some transactions to our special needs, which they were able to do on the spot!”

“Overall, the Sanyo ECR645-7 frees up time, reduces wages and will pay for itself in twelve months,” added Neville.
